Countryside Books: Countryside Competition!

Countryside Books: Countryside Competition!

Countryside Competition!

As it’s my birthday tomorrow I’m going to celebrate by making you an offer you can’t refuse:

The chance to win a free book!

And … even better … you get to select which one of the books available on our website you would like as your prize!

All you have to do is tell me the title of the featured ‘Book of the Month’ on our website www.countrysidebooks.co.uk .

Email me your answer at debm@countrysidebooks.co.uk along with your full name and address and the title of the book you would like as a prize, chosen from the selection available on our website.

The two winners will be drawn entirely at random from the entries sent to me.  I will email the winners to let them know their prize is on its way; I will email everyone else with my sincere commiserations.  But, don’t worry, even if you don’t win this time there are going to be plenty more opportunities in future competitions!

The closing date for the competition is 22nd July.  Any entries after that date won’t be included in the draw, I’m afraid.

I’m really looking forward to hearing from you J

Countryside eBooks!

Congratulations, it's .... an eBook?

I just can't resist letting you know that our first ebook has gone live!  It's very exciting for us here at Countryside Books (http://www.countrysidebooks.co.uk/).

The book is Weather Forecasting Made Simple by Stan Yorke and it is available for the Kindle on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Weather-Forecasting-Made-Simple-ebook/dp/B0056HGXB2/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1309962795&sr=1-1

Gosh! It's a little like giving birth (well not really, but it's the only analogy I can come up with on short notice).  We've nursed and watched over this project for weeks and finally the Big Event has taken place.

We are really grateful to everyone at Andrews UK who have held our hand all through this wonderful event and have done their very best to make it as painless as possible.  Thank you Paul, Joe and everyone at Andrews UK - you're stars!

I'd better just mention that the happy event will, eventually, be quadruplets - we are expecting another three ebooks any day now!

I will keep you posted; right now I'm off to gawp at our first-born on the Amazon page again.

Onward and Upward

It's been quite an eventful day!

We have now managed to put Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/CountrysideBooks) links onto our website (http://www.countrysidebooks.co.uk/) so that our customers can hear from our authors about their books.

All I have to do now is convince our authors that they really DO want to become media stars!

We are getting our own video recorder (we've decided on the Zoom Q3) so that we can put some of our own clips onto our website and Youtube.  Think it might be nice to have some 'meet the staff' footage (if I can persuade them ... think I'll have to do some really fast talking with this idea!).  It's a learning curve for us all here at Countryside Books but it's really exciting and we are all determined to get our little company noticed!

Summer is here

Ah, summer!

I was wondering when it was going to arrive.

Now we have the sunshine it's the perfect opportunity for everyone to get out and about and blow those cobwebs away.  Countryside Books have a wonderful selection of walking guides covering every county in England.  If you would like to see what we have to offer then take a peep at our website http://www.countrysidebooks.co.uk/.  Any book ordered online gets an automatic 20% discount which I think is real value for money!

As a dog owner I'm particularly fond of our Dog Walker's Guides.  So far these cover Somerset, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire & the New Forest, Lancashire, Essex, the Yorkshire Dales and Shropshire.  I've sampled some of the walks from HAMPSHIRE & THE NEW FOREST: A DOG WALKER'S GUIDE by Vicky Fletcher, and I can whole-heartedly recommend them for dog owners.  My dog, Bruce (a Rhodesian Ridgeback), had a lovely time at Lepe and really enjoyed being able to run on the beach and have a paddle in the sea!

It's great to be able to visit a new place and not have to worry about where your dog is allowed and what you might encounter on the route.  It's also a definite plus to know which cafes and pubs will welcome you and your dog.  Bruce and I definitely needed some refreshment after our days out!
